Marquetta Novak Obituary

Marquetta Ayarza Novak passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025. Born and raised in Jerome, Idaho, Marquetta later made her home in Mill Creek, Washington, where she and her husband, Joe, built a beautiful life together over their 61 years of marriage.

Known for her grace and quiet strength, Marquetta devoted her life to her family and to creating a home filled with laughter and love. She lived each day to the fullest, cherishing time with friends, exploring the world, and designing beautiful spaces that reflected her warmth, taste, and eye for detail.

Marquetta was deeply proud of her family and her Basque heritage, which shaped her values of loyalty, generosity, and resilience. She approached life with an adventurous spirit and an elegant sense of style that was uniquely her own. A passionate sports fan, she followed every team, especially the Seattle Seahawks, and was known for her uncanny ability to win football pools.

Marquetta was preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Marceline Ayarza of Jerome, Idaho. She is survived by her husband, Joe Novak; her daughter, Erika Novak Harvey (James Harvey); and her granddaughter, Keira Esti Harvey. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Ayarza (Genene Ayarza); her brother-in-law, Mike Novak (Adele Novak); her nephew, Marcus Ayarza (Ericka Ayarza); her great-niece, Emma Ayarza; and her nieces, Christy Orloski and Michelle Kerkvoorde -- all of whom she loved and cherished dearly.

Marquetta will be laid to rest at the Ketchum Cemetery in Sun Valley, Idaho, a place that brought her much happiness and joyful memories. Her light, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
