Robert (Bob) Walter Malberg
June 8, 1929 - March 9, 2022
Robert (Bob) Walter Malberg, a 92-year-old Burley resident, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, with his children and loved ones by his side.
Robert was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on June 8, 1929, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from 1950 to 1952, serving time in Germany. Robert married the love of his life, Darlene McCaslin-Poulton, in 1972. In 1994, Robert retired from Skaggs Furniture after 40 years of loyal service.
Bob had many gifts, talents, and hobbies. Some of his hobbies included fishing with his many grandchildren at West Magic Reservoir for Perch, hunting with the guys in the family (a yearly tradition), tending to his immaculate garden, painting, and having a beer with his son, Damon. Dad was kind of a hoarder and saved many things because he could fix anything – and usually did with the things he had saved over the years. Bob also loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife, Darlene; his children, and, mostly, their many (favorite) grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping at their special place at Magic Reservoir. Bob's witty personality, smarty jokes, and his apples (applesauce) will be missed by all who knew him. Bob was a treasured father, grandfather, and best friend. Dad was deeply loved and will be truly missed. We love you, Dad!
Robert (Bob) is survived by his loving wife, Darlene of 49 years; his seven children, Rex (Joan) Malberg of Martinez, California, Rosann (Richard) Marquardt of Hartfield, Virginia, Shelly (Bruce) Lind of Killdeer, North Dakota, Gayla (Rod) Willis of Heyburn, Idaho, DeVere (Laurie) Poulton of Burley, Idaho, Dan Malberg of Buhl, Idaho, Damon (Mandy) Malberg of Burley, Idaho; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
