Robert Serfass Obituary

Robert A Serfass

May 5, 1957 - December 10, 2024

Robert A "Bob" Serfass, a resident of Jim Thorpe, PA and Dunedin, FL, died on December 10, 2024, in Clearwater, FL after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67.

Bob was born in Torrington, CT on May 5, 1957, to Shirley and Arthur Serfass. He graduated from Lehighton High School in 1976 before being employed in numerous positions over a twenty-year tenure at Pocono Whitewater. It was during this time he met and married the love of his life, Wendy Solt. After his time at Pocono Whitewater, he began a career as the Director of Mountain Adventures at Camelback Mountain Resort before retiring in 2019.

Bob always had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying several hobbies such as biking, kayaking (or paddling as he liked to call it), hiking, and golfing. He and Wendy were able to travel to many beautiful places where they enjoyed snorkeling and spending time on the beach. After retirement, Bob enjoyed life as a snowbird where he and Wendy would split time riding the Pinellas Trail and spending time with his Westwind family at the pool in Florida and riding the D&L trail in Pennsylvania surrounded by his hometown loved ones.

Bob was an avid mentor to his nieces, nephews, godchildren, family, and colleagues in ways that made him feel like family to anyone he interacted with. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality that lifted any room he walked into; his jolly demeanor; his incredible sense of humor; and the inspiration, encouragement, and knowledge he passed on to all those around him. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Serfass; his sisters, Beverly Pryor, Barb Mentzer, Joanne Norwood, and Kathy Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Richard Serfass.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held in both of his hometowns in May 2025. Dates are to be determined.
