Barry D. 'Butch' Serfass

Barry D. "Butch" Serfass, 82, of Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2025, in his home. He was the husband of Joan C. (Hinkle) Green-Serfass since Oct. 18, 1982.

He was owner/operator of Barry D. Serfass Concrete Contractor Co. for over 54 years until retiring.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Ervin W. and Betty L. (Kocher) Serfass.

He attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Towamensing, Palmerton.

Along with his work, Barry was also a Chaparral Snowmobile dealer and enthusiast from 1970-1974. He enjoyed spending time in Potter County, hunting and fishing over the years. He was an Eagles fan and loved going to the casinos.

Surviving in addition to his widow are daughters, Sheila Serfass of Prescott, AZ, and Cindy, wife of Ralph Hunter of Lehighton; a son, Chris Serfass, and his wife, Christine Serfass of Lehighton; stepsons, James Green, and his wife, Vickie, and Kevin Green, and his wife Diane Green, both of Palmerton; 12 grandchildren, Neil, Zack, Dylan, Chyana, Jeffrey, Kevin, Tara, Terri, Kirsten, Carolann, Jonathan and Teegan; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly, wife of Rick Treskot of Palmerton, Brenda Hawk of Kunkletown and Debra, wife of Frank Biege of Forest Inn; brothers, Danny "Nuper" Serfass, and his wife, Tessie, of Aquashicola, and Terry Serfass, and his wife, Diane, of Palmerton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by stepson, John Green.

Service: Memorial services 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Interment, private. Call 3-5 p.m. Friday.
