Jesse Schoch, 42, of
Falls Church, Virginia, passed away among family and friends on February13, 2026. Born November 3, 1983, Jesse lived with curiosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to the people and passions he loved most.
Jesse will forever live in the hearts of his loving wife, Jaimee; his parents, Marie and Warren; his brothers, Schawn and Chris; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his beloved cats, Jake and Jewel, of whom he was a very proud CatDad.
If you met Jesse once, you likely felt like you'd known him for years. He was a true extrovert with a magnetic personality and a gift for making strangers feel like friends. He delighted in making people laugh and had a knack for finding himself in delightfully "weird"situations, the kind that became legendary retellings. This talent inspired a family motto he shared with Jaimee: It was fun, until it got weird.
Jesse grew up in
Palmerton, Pennsylvania, graduating from Palmerton High School in 2002 before earning a bachelor's degree in Political Science and English from Bloomsburg University in 2006. At Bloomsburg, he immersed himself in The Voice student newspaper, serving as Editor-in-Chief his senior year. That experience sparked a path into graphic and multimedia design, eventually leading to a career in software and application development. In 2019, he joined Aledade, where he focused on telehealth and medical records systems. Jesse took great pride in contributing to healthcare and especially valued the chance to connect directly with doctors and nurses, listening to their stories to improve their workflow.
Jesse and Jaimee met at Bloomsburg in 2003 and began beginning a 20-year partnership filled with adventure, tradition, and deep love. Jaimee joined him in Northern Virginia. In 2009, they bought their home in Falls Church. In 2023, they began rebuilding it from the ground up,moving into their new home in July 2024.
They were married on January 25, 2014, in an epic celebration and marked their tenth anniversary in New Orleans. They traveled to the Dominican Republic, Seattle, the Outer Banks, and countless gaming conventions across the eastern United States. They always returned with too many new games and the best stories. They were each other's sounding boards and supported each other
through multiple life events, including job losses and health issues. Above all, they loved each other whole heartedly.
Jesse was an avid board and card gamer. He organized game nights at work and was a regular at MAGFest, where he thrived among open gaming tables, arcade cabinets. Every Thursday night, he played Magic: The Gathering online with his brothers, a standing tradition he looked forward to. He was excited to host game days in his finished basement.
Jesse faced his 2024 cancer diagnosis with courage and characteristic humor. Even in difficult moments, he remained positive, building friendships with his nurses, learning about their lives, and making them laugh whenever he could.
Pennsylvania Celebration of Life will be March 28th 12 to 4 at St Johns Church Hall, Fireline Rd. No need to dress formally, but feel free to wear something green, Jesse's favorite color and bring all your memories and stories to share.
