David Serfass Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Purcell Chapel on Feb. 18, 2026.
David Duane Serfass, age 61, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Webster, Florida. He was born on February 2, 1965, in Barberton, Ohio, to Gerald and Charlotte Serfass.

David was a truly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a faithful member of Clay Sink Baptist Church and carried his faith into the way he lived each day. David had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He found joy in running, watching movies, playing cards and games, and spending time traveling. He often talked about the day he would retire and finally take the trips he had dreamed about. He also took great pride in caring for his cows, especially his favorite, "Lucy."

Above all, David loved his family and spending time with his children. Time spent with those he loved meant everything to him. He will be remembered as a steady, caring presence and a man who was deeply loved by many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janine Joy Serfass of Webster, Florida; his son, David Benjamin Serfass of Webster, Florida; his daughter, Destinie Carolyn Velasquez (Joshua) of Floral City, Florida; his grandson, Vincent Velasquez of Floral City, Florida; his sisters, Sandra Sue Henry of Stow, Ohio, and Sarah Sue Mackiewicz (Russell) of Wadsworth, Ohio; and his mother-in-law, Darlene Baksa of Palm Harbor, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Hannah Micayla Serfass; his parents, Gerald and Charlotte Serfass; and his father-in-law, Ronald Baksa.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 at Purcell Chapel, Beyers Funeral Home in Bushnell, Florida. A funeral service will be held at the Serfass Family Home in Webster, Florida on February 21, 2026 at 11:00am, followed by an interment next to his daughter, Hannah, at the HMS Equestrian Center in Webster, Florida.
