Ronald Newbry Obituary

Ronald Lewis Newbry

August 22, 1938 - June 28, 2025

Ron Newbry of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at home in the early morning of June 28, 2025, in Twin Falls. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on August 22, 1938, to Robert Martin Newbry Junior and Arlouine Evlyn (Fellon) Newbry. He was the youngest of four.

The family moved to Eden, Idaho when he was an infant where his father farmed. Then in his youth they moved to Jerome, Idaho where once again his Dad farmed.

Ron graduated from Jerome High School in May of 1958. At that time, he joined the Idaho National Guard from 1958 to 1963. After graduation he went to work for First Security Bank, Jerome, Idaho.

In April of 1959, he met Peggy Klundt while dragging Main Street in Twin Falls, Idaho. They dated for a year and were married on July 2nd 1960 in Winnemucca, Nevada and would have celebrated 65 years of marriage July 2, 2025.

Shortly after they married Ron went to work for Young's Dairy in Twin Falls, Idaho as a wholesale driver. He had a route all over the Magic Valley and up to the Sun Valley area. He worked through many transitions until finally it became Darigold. In later years he also delivered into Nevada up to Wendover, Nevada. After 38 years with the company he retired when they closed the plant and, he and Peggy were able to drive his truck to Boise, Idaho and bring back another truck on his birthday in August of 1998.

Then after his retirement he went to work for the Twin Falls School District as a Janitor for two years and then retiring for good in 2000.

On June 17,1961 they welcomed their first child Ronald Douglas Newbry, Ron had National Guard camp scheduled at that time and thankfully he was able to be home for Doug's birth. Then on June 12, 1963, they welcomed their 2nd son Jeffrey Brian Newbry and Ron was able to leave the National Guard as he would have been at camp again at the time of his birth.

Ron loved keeping up his homes and yards. Ron introduced Peggy to camping and she was hooked. They bought their first trailer when Doug was a baby and through many years and trailers they had many wonderful camping trips. They also were able to take their vacations to many places be it Yellowstone, Washington, Oregon, California when the boys were home. When the boys were teens Ron and Peggy took Ballroom Dance Classes and spent Saturday nights dancing at the Elks and Moose Clubs making many friends.

They began going to Yuma, Arizona for two weeks on vacation for a few years and after retirement they spent 3 months every winter for 23 years. They made many wonderful friends through the years! After several years they built a small home Yuma. Ron had many joyous years tending cactus in Yuma and his yard in Idaho. They were able to take trips from Yuma to many places in Arizona, also California to see their son Doug and his family. Also New Mexico, Canada, Illinois, Branson, Missouri, and many trips to Algodones, Mexico with friends! Many wonderful memories! They sold their home in Arizona 5 years ago and he enjoyed working around his home and tending his garden and many cactus plants, in Idaho, which he loved!

Ron is survived by his wife, Peggy, his sons, Doug (Kelly) and Jeff (Donna) along with four grandchildren, MacKenzie Newbry, Calif., Hailey (Brian) Wilcox Ariz., Jordan (Hillary) Newbry Mont., and Tyler Newbry, Florida; two darling great-grandsons, Henry Wilcox and Benjamin Wilcox and many extended family!

Ron was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his brother, Roger, and sister, Arlouine.
