Agapito V. "Victor" Reyes, 93
CAMPBELL… Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday August 28, 2025 at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell, with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis, officiating for Agapito V. "Victor" Reyes, age 93, who passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday August 26, 2025.
He was born September 20, 1931 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, a son of Antonio and Eugenia (Rosario) Reyes.
Victor was a resident of the Youngstown area since the early 1950's. He earned his GED and went on to gain his electrician certification from New Castle School of Trades. He joined the U.S. Army on May 10, 1954 and served until April 18, 1956. He served during the Korean Conflict.
Victor married the love of his life the former, Mary C. Corfias on December 14, 1957 and they shared almost 45 years of marriage until her passing on July 14, 2002.
Victor worked as a tool grinder operator for 37 years with Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co, which became LTV, and he later became an electrician for Highway Heating Company.
Victor was a member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 560 and had served as commander. Victor was also a member of OCCHA Spanish Society and Archangel Michael Church Council as well as the Kalymian Club.
Victor will be deeply missed and always remembered by his daughter, Sr. Chrysovalantou Irene V. Reyes of the Monastary Nativity of the Theotokos in Saxonburg, PA ; his brother, Cecilio Reyes of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico; his sister, Martha Crespo of Youngstown, Ohio and many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; three brothers and six sisters.
The Reyes family has entrusted Victor's care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 28, 2025 from 9:30-11am at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Victor's memory to the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, 121 St. Elias Lane, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
Victor will be laid to rest in Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Campbell, Ohio.
