Catherine Beckes Obituary

Cortland- Catherine M. Beckes 93, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Poland on June 29, 2023. She was born on May 3, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Andrea and Carmela Cannistra. Catherine was the Executive Secretary for the Pittsburgh Board of Education She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She was a volunteer for the Scope Center. Mostly, Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family. Catherine is survived by her daughter Fran Beckes. Four grandchildren Angel (Paul) Grantz of Girard; Amanda Grantz of Warren; Charles (Amber) Grantz of Howland and Michael (Liz) Hines of Warren and eight great grandchildren; Angeleah, Sam, Braydon, CJ, Casper, Annessa, Athena and DJ. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers. A caring cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later time.
