Catherine Klouda Obituary
BRISTOLVILLE – Catherine L. Klouda, age 80, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 22, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 19, 1945, in Warren, the daughter of Leland "Pappy" and Louise (Clark) Durst.
A graduate of Bristol High School, Cathey married the love of her life, Albert J. Klouda, on December 18, 1965. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, woodworking, reading, crocheting, and country music.
She was a model homemaker whose greatest joys came from her family: her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; for whom she loved to sew, cook, try new recipes, make crafts, encourage orneriness, and to follow their dreams (They did).
Outside the home, she was the most generous person you could meet, always willing to help others, especially those less fortunate. She belonged to the Bristol Garden Club years ago. She also enjoyed teaching driver's education.
Precious memories of Cathey live on with her beloved husband of nearly sixty years, Albert J. Klouda; three children: Ralph (Rebecca) Klouda of Edinburg, Stacy (Matt) Lynn of Bristolville, and Joseph (Cathy) Klouda of Bristol, Connecticut; nine grandchildren: Lauren (Aaron) Boso, Emily (James) Rupinski, Rae (Savannah) Klouda, Jacob, Chrissy, and Lili Klouda, and Remi, Reagan, and Cash Whiting; four great-grandchildren: Atticus, Adalyn, Avery, and Banks; two sisters, Kay (Kenneth) Weeks of Bristolville and Linda Wyatt of Abingdon, Illinois; one brother, Edd (Kathy) Durst of Vienna; sister-in-law, Joy Durst of Waldorf, Maryland; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her four-legged BFF, Skip.
Preceding her in death are her parents; four brothers: Leland Jr., Walter, David, and Ronald Durst; and two sisters-in-law: Judy and Pearl Durst.
There are no services for Cathey. To honor Cathey's remarkable life, the family asks to do a good deed for someone, as she would have done. If you see a child cry, help wipe their tears. If you see someone fall, help lift them up. If you see someone that needs a dollar and you have two – help them if you can. Compliments, caring, and compassion for others is what made her happy. Cathey and her loved ones just ask if you have the opportunity to "pay if forward", please do.
