Cathy Barr Obituary

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Cathy Lynn Barr, age 69, of Struthers, Ohio, passed away at Mercy Health - Boardman. She was born October 10, 1955, in Altoona, PA to Roy Barr and and Clara (Yanke) Barr. Cathy graduated from Altoona High School in 1973. She went on to work as a beautician for many years and later served as a bus driver for the Youngstown City School District. Cathy found joy in many hobbies, including rolling dice, crocheting, crafting, camping, cooking meals for loved ones, and bowling. Her warmth and creativity touched those around her. Cathy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michelle O'Donahue; and three grandchildren: Grace O'Donahue, Carly Jackson, and Kyla Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings: Maryann Hanley, Donna Dearing, Roy Barr, Wanda Hockenberry, Deborah Thorpe, and Joe Barr. In addition to her family, she leaves behind dear friends Dina Saleem, Laylah Caime, and Wilma Stroh. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Nora Barr and Carol McDermott; and brothers Charles McCulloch, Daniel Barr, and James Barr. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be sent to the family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
