Charles Beltz Obituary

Boardman - Charles William Beltz, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness. Charles was born on July 7, 1946, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles and Sophie (Nogay) Beltz. He graduated from Sharon High School in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University. In 1971, he made the Mahoning Valley his home. Charles began his career as a draftsman at Westinghouse Electric Transformer Plant in Sharon and ended his career there in production control management, where he worked for over 20 years. He later served as an inventory manager at RGIS for 27 years before retiring in 2011. A man of many interests, Charles had a lifelong passion for trains and was an avid collector of train memorabilia. He loved traveling with his family-especially by rail-and cherished trips to car shows and sporting events. A loyal fan, he proudly supported the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and YSU football. Charles and his wife, Karen, spent many winters as "snowbirds" in Florida and enjoyed time at their beloved cabin at Eagle Rock along the Allegheny River. Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Karen L. (Wendt) Beltz, whom he married on October 9, 1971; his daughter, Heather L. Beltz of Las Vegas, NV; his sister, JoAnn M. (John) Stanton of Sharon, PA; niece, Alison M. Stanton of Adams Township, PA; and nephews, Rich Wendt and Ron (Jaymi) Wendt, both of Boardman, OH. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Ruth Wendt; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Patty Wendt, as well as his cherished four-legged companions: Honey, Penny, and Autumn. A memorial service celebrating Charles' life will be held in the spring at Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Cherry Lane Drive, Hubbard, OH, with Pastor Mike Byus officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, Boardman. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to share memories and condolences with the family.
