Charles V. Woodyard

CHAMPION – Charles V. Woodyard, age 64, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born February 2, 1961 in Warren, the son of Charles and Lillian (Berkhouse) Woodyard. A graduate of LaBrae High School, Charles retired from Kraftmaid in Middlefield after twenty-seven years of employment. Charles was a big kid who never outgrew his love for Christmas and decorating for Christmas. You could find him outdoors, attending his grandchildren's games, laughing at a family picnic, or fishing. Indoors was for playing cards and watching the Browns and Buckeyes. He was a very good bowler in his day, and he preferred his country music and his rock and roll loud. He was a member of First Church of God in Newton Falls. Most of all, he cherished his time with family, and he was a terrific husband, father, and grandfather. Precious memories of Charles live on with his beloved wife of nearly forty-six years, Lillie (Stimpert) Woodyard, whom he married January 12, 1980; two sons, Matthew (Danielle) of Warren and Gregory Woodyard (Stacy) of Champion; four grandchildren: Emma, Gabrielle, Waylon, and Wayverlee Woodyard; four sisters: Kathleen Gee and Karen Binion, both of Cortland, Wendy Miller of Warren, and Bonnie Gee (Mike) of Newton Falls; and one brother, John Woodyard (Terry) of Cortland. Preceding him in death are his parents and his oldest sister, Carol Woodyard. A Celebration of Life for Charles will be held from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483.
