Christopher Cowdrey Obituary

In Loving Memory of Christopher Lee Cowdrey Christopher Lee Cowdrey, 40, of Akron, Ohio passed away on October 8th, 2025 at his home. He was born March 20th, 1985 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of the late Robert Lewis Cowdrey and Tina Marie (VanKell) Cowdrey. Christopher was a graduate of Jefferson Area High School's class of 2003 and attended Ashland University. Chris worked as a construction worker for over 20 years, most recently with Cementech, Inc. He enjoyed sports, fitness, and spending time with his family and dog. Chris was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and strength that will never be forgotten. From the moment he entered this world, Chris had a fire in his heart and a spark that carried him through every challenge and triumph. Life didn't always come easy, but he faced it with grit and determination that inspired everyone who knew him. He rose from the ashes of hardship, turned his life around, and built something truly remarkable through his hard work and heart. A true workaholic with an unstoppable drive, Chris took pride in everything he did. Yet, beyond his work ethic, it was his loyalty and love that defined him most. He cherished his family deeply and loved spending time with those who meant the world to him, especially his loyal dog, Oliver, his constant companion and best friend. He found joy in the simple things: cheering on his favorite teams, making friendly bets that always came with a grin, sharing laughs that could light up a room, and working out every chance he could get. His sense of humor, warmth, and unwavering love will be remembered forever by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that Chris's story is one of redemption, resilience, and love. He showed us that it's never too late to become the person you were meant to be, and that the power of family, faith, and determination can truly transform a life. He leaves behind a family who will miss him endlessly, but will carry his strength and love with them always. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Tina Marie Cowdrey of Vienna, Ohio, brother, Heath (Sara) Buchanan of Roaming Shores, Ohio, nephew and nieces, Jackson, Eleanor and Beatrice Buchanan, sister, Ashley (Clinton) Kalas of Vienna, OH, and his beloved dog, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lewis Cowdrey, his grandparents, Wayne and Eleanor Newland, and his Aunt, Deanna Babic. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Rest easy, Chris. You worked hard, you loved deeply, and you made it. We couldn't be prouder of the man you became. "We love you very very house." Until we meet again Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is honored to assist with his final arrangements. The family requests that material contributions be made to a Go Fund Me at <> or by forwarding them to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.
