Christopher Ferringer

Christopher "Chris" Ferringer, 75, of Hermitage, passed away Monday evening, May 20, 2024. Mr. Ferringer was born on August 28, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA; a son of the late George and Kathryn (Metzger) Ferringer. He was a 1966 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. He worked several years at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant, retiring upon its closure. An avid gardener and self-proclaimed "Agricultural Technician," he owned and operated "Dutch Lane Produce and Pumpkin Patch," selling pumpkins, mums and various home-grown veggies. Additionally, Chris was a landlord to many families throughout the years. A passionate fisherman, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger days, watching "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," and never passed on an opportunity to pull over and pick flowers, berries or mushrooms. Above all, his goal in life was to make others smile, and he will be remembered for his contagious laugh. More recently his days revolved around his coffee chats with his buddies at Eat'n Park, and going for drives with his parrot, Elmer. He is survived by three daughters, Heidi Kizak (Timothy), Amy Ristvey (Matthew), all of Hermitage, and Elizabeth Martinez (Juan), Bethel Park, PA; six grandchildren, Zack Kizak, Lauren Chelius, Viktor, Natalee and Emma Ristvey, and Lucita Martinez; and three great-grandchildren, Henry and Brooks Kizak, and Kennedy Chelius. Also surviving are two former wives, Rita Ferringer and Debra Setterberg. In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother, William Ferringer. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday (05/24/2024) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home. Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville.
