Darrell Hoard Obituary

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Darrell Miles Hoard, age 74, passed away at his residence surrounded by family. He was born February 9, 1951, in Gassaway, WV, to James and Mildred (Dean) Hoard. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diana (Copeland) Hoard, and children; Lynn (Roxanne) Maur, Erica (Jennifer Curry) Hoard, Darrell (Kim) Hoard, George (Monica) Maur, Michelle (Tim) Mock, Julie Hoard-Exline, Keri (Kyle) Humphrey; siblings, Richard (Tracey) Tonkin and Danny (Carol) Hoard; fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and his dog, Ms. Wiggles. Darrell had a lifelong passion for racing and working on cars. He especially enjoyed driving his convertible-often with the top down, regardless of the weather-embracing every moment behind the wheel with enthusiasm and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Raymond and James (Marie) Hoard, and brother, Paul (the late Carol) Harris. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
