David C. Simpson

David C. Simpson age 87 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren. He was born on June 28, 1936 in Morgantown, WV the son of the late Ira J. Simpson and Mildred I. (Roupe) Simpson. After high school he joined the US Army Reserves for 8 years serving from 1954- 1962. David then married the love of his life, Carolyn H. King on Feb. 23, 1957 and they have enjoyed the past 66 years of marriage together until his wife passed away on March 21, 2023. They have lived in Newton Falls since 1971, formerly of South Euclid, OH. He worked as a laborer at GM Lordstown for 32 years retiring in 1988. He then worked as a security guard for Ohio Security in Warren for 10 years. David & Carolyn were faithful members of the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls. He loved woodworking in his youth and doing things with his wife and for the church. David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Carolyn, and 3 brothers: Ira, John, and Allen Simpson. He is survived by: 2 daughters he adopted as his own: Helen & Michael Johnson of Columbus, OH, Denice Sayres of El Paso, TX, 1 brother: Vernon & Linda Simpson of Fairview, WV, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the General Assembly Church of God 2021 East River Rd. Newton Falls, OH 44444 on Monday April 22, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Mitch Meadors officiating. Calling hours will be at the church on Sunday April 21, 2024 from 5:00- 7:00pm. David will be laid to rest beside his wife Carolyn at Newton Falls Cemetery.
