Donna E. Soges

Poland - Donna Evamae Soges, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born on October 8, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Augustine) Garland. A 1976 graduate of Struthers High School, Donna went on to earn her degree in radiologic technology from St. Elizabeth Hospital. She dedicated over 32 years of service as a radiologic technologist and mammographer at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown before retiring in 2011. She was also a proud member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She cherished time spent with her family and friends. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, especially growing flowers and vegetables. She also loved playing cards-particularly poker-and visiting casinos. She is survived by her husband, Laurence J. Soges, whom she married in May 2008; her son, Derek J. (Drake) Garland of Lowellville, OH; her beloved granddaughter, Dahlia Garland of Lowellville, OH; her brother, John R. (Rhonda) Garland of Hatfield, PA; her sister, Cindy A. Rosenberger of Poland, OH; two nieces, Stacie (Daniel) Perez of Lowellville, OH, and Abbie Garland of Canada; a nephew, John (Emma) Garland of PA; and two great-nieces, Mikala and Malia; and a great-nephew, Mannie Perez. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her grandson, Odin Garland, and her brother-in-law, Donald Rosenberger. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street in Struthers.
