Youngstown - Elaine Lois Cartier, March 29, 1928 - July 28,2024
Psalm 27:1
"The Lord is my salvation. I will fear no one; The Lord protects me from all danger, I will never be afraid!"
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Elaine Cartier.
Elaine met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in person when she was called to her heavenly home at the age of 96. She took yet another step in her life's journey. She passed away peacefully.
Elaine was born March 29, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Adolph and Dorothy Burkhardt. She graduated from Boardman High School
in 1946 where she was head majorette for the band for several years. Upon graduation, she worked for the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad as a secretary. She married her husband Calvin, in 1949. He passed away July of 2002.
Elaine was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman, where she was an active member of Altar Guild, Priscilla Circle, and
Fun timers. She enjoyed collecting Seraphim Angels. She treasured the time spent with her family whom she loved dearly, always making sure they were taken care of. She
enjoyed shopping with her daughter and best friend, Carol along with her friendships with the people at Tips to Toes where she got her hair done.
She enjoyed all holidays and Christmas was her greatest enjoyment. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and kindness to others including animals.
She will be deeply missed but her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Carol (Richard Rappach); son Donald (Terri Cartier); grandsons, Christopher (Melinda) Rappach, Shaun (Dawna) Rappach; her four beautiful great-grandchildren, Lilia, Tyler, Ryland, and Adelina Rappach; along with her fur baby, Noel.
Beside her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy White, and brother-in-law, Norman White.
A special thanks to Briarfield Place and the caring staff for the comfort and care they provided. A special thank you to Dr. Ieraci and Father Mykola Zomchak for always being there.
Heaven has yet another angel amongst them probably playing a harp and rejoicing with her friends!
Per Elaine's request, private services were held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman with Pastor Bob Quaintance officiating. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
