Gary Cadle Obituary

Gary D. Cadle age 76 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday March 14, 2024 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on Oct. 21, 1947 in Grassy Meadows, WV the son of the late Cecil Clark Cadle and Geneva Alice (Lively) Cadle. A 1965 graduate of Smoot High School in West Virginia, Gary moved to the Newton Falls area in 1971 after serving in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at General Motors in Lordstown for 30 years, retiring in December 1997. Gary is of Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church of Newton Falls. Gary married the former Judy Marie Overly on January 14, 2000. Together they shared 24 years of marriage. Gary loved basketball, gardening, watching old westerns movies & reading books, all Cleveland sports teams, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, Helen, Regina, Marvin and Cecil Cadle. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy M. Cadle of Newton Falls, 1 son Greg (Patty) Cadle of Newton Falls; 2 step daughters; Jodi (Andy) Harvey of Newton Falls, Tami (Billy) Weers of Naples, Fl, 7 sisters; Mae Keeney, Jerri Stickler, Carolee Christian, Donna Witt, Deanna Jenkins, Juanita Sweeney and Rhonda (Danny) Harper; 5 brothers, Melvin (Ina) Cadle, Howard (Irma) Cadle, Claude (Betty) Cadle, Danny (Ruth) Cadle and Emil (Linda) Cadle; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 4:00- 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 at 11:00am at the James Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating. Following the services, Gary will be honored for his service to our country by the Newton Falls Veteran Honor Guard at Graham Cemetery in Southington. Following military honors and a committal service Gary will be laid to rest. "Gary's family is collecting donations in his memory for the Gary Cadle Memorial Scholarship to be awarded May 14th to a Newton Falls Basketball player who best exemplifies Gary's character and love of the game. A few of Gary´s many admirable qualities were that he was a genuine and very kind-hearted individual. I always enjoyed when he visited The Cadle Company. He would stop in my office and chat with me. He always asked how everyone was doing. Secondly, my husband´s family knew Gary many years ago. When my husband´s sister, Shirley was born in the late 70´s, he would visit a lot and loved holding her. It was very apparent that he loved babies and children. This was also true when our daughter, Courtney was born in 1988. She was only a week old and Gary stopped by our apartment for a visit to meet her. He held her in his arms and talked to her for quite a while. Even when we would see him again, he would always ask how the family was doing. He was very kind and compassionate. He is sadly missed, but more importantly will be remarkably remembered. Love, Jo and Dick Gibbs
