Georgianna Wasko Obituary

Georgianna Wasko, 82, of Hermitage, passed away Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, in her home. Mrs. Wasko was born on February 16, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Talowsky) Zurawsky. She was a 1961 graduate of Hickory High School. She retired as a nurse from the former White Cliff Nursing Home, Greenville, working in the Alzheimer's unit. Previously, she worked as a real estate agent for the former Moyer Realty, as well as an insurance agent for Prudential. Additionally, Georgianna was a past business owner. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing board games and cards, flowers, and people. Georgianna was also an animal lover, especially her dog, Alvin, and the cats. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Georgianna was a member of St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sharon. An accomplished pianist, she also served as the former choir director. Georgianna was always known for her kindness to all, touching the lives of countless people in her lifetime. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Wasko, whom she married on February 2, 1962; a daughter, Andrea Wasko and her wife, Meaghan Gilbert, of Los Osos, CA; two sons, Andy Wasko, and David Wasko, both of Hermitage; and a sister, Evelyn Delph and her husband, Roger Hilfiker, of Sarasota, FL. In addition to her parents, Georgianna was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Zurawsky. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to an animal charity of the donor's choice, or share a kind act for someone. All services were held privately.
