Gregory “Greg” D. Lombardo, 73, of Boardman, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Born on April 2, 1951, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Ralph and Mary (Rotunno) Lombardo.
A graduate of New Castle High School, Class of 1969, Greg began his career at Mahoning Bank in 1972, where he would serve for two decades. It was there that he met the love of his life, Terri Johnson, and they were married on April 12, 1980. Together, they celebrated 44 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter, Staci. In 1995, he took on the role of systems engineer and computer programmer at General Motors, remaining dedicated to the company until his retirement in 2018.
Above all, Greg cherished his family and took immense pride in caring and providing for them. Known for his passion for golf, he spent many enjoyable hours on the greens at Mill Creek Park golfing alongside his friends. When Greg wasn't golfing, he enjoyed walking for exercise and his daily visits to chat with his mother-in-law, Shirley.
One of the good guys, Greg's kindness, unmatched generosity, positivity, and gentle nature will be missed by many.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Terri, of Boardman; daughter, Staci (Keith) Sikora, of Boardman; and a grandchild due this coming February. He is also remembered by his brother, Jeff Lombardo, of New Castle; mother-in-law, Shirley Johnson, of Boardman; brother-in-law, Scott (Joni) Johnson of Oregon; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Lombardo, Natalie Lombardo, Kegan (Lauren) Johnson, and Marissa (fiancé Alex) Johnson; and great nephews, Luka and Milo Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Lombardo.
A memorial service celebrating Greg's life will be announced at a future date.
