Helen F. Maxwell, 64 of Southington, passed away Monday afternoon, October 14th, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
She was born July 27, 1960 in Warren, a daughter of the late Boyd Hodge and Verna (Abston) Hodge Flickenger.
Helen was a 1978 graduate of Champion High School and worked as a retail clerk for Save A Lot and Dollar Tree stores for many years, retiring in 2022.
She enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets, and attending area county fairs, especially the Trumbull County Fair. She also loved taking her daughter April to see her favorite band, Old School. Helen's greatest joy was being with her family, whom she dearly loved. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Helen is survived by her three children; Rick (Katherine) Maxwell, of McDonald, April Binion, of Southington, and Heather (Lacey) Binion, of McDonald. She also leaves behind two sisters; Linda Clawson and Barbara Hodge, both of McDonald; four grandchildren; Marrissa, Aubrey, Karley, and Lee; her longtime companion, John Welsh; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother Buddy, and five sisters; Jean, Grace, Rose, Mary, and Nadine.
Helen was a kind, loving, and generous lady. She further displayed her generosity by giving the gift of sight to two individuals through compassionate donation.
In accordance with the family's wishes there will be no funeral services or calling hours. A memorial luncheon and gathering will be held noon to 3PM Saturday, October 26th, at the Holiday Inn Youngstown South, 7410 South Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
