Ilona R. Rupnik

WARREN – Ilona R. Rupnik, age 81, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was born March 3, 1944 in Warren, the daughter of Elwyn and Perthenia (Stewart) Kingdon. A 1961 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Ilona worked thirty-two years for Warren City Schools, as a librarian, as a school secretary, and at the Board of Education office. She belonged to First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She found peace in being outdoors, whether mowing the lawn, tending to her flowers, or watching and feeding the hummingbirds. She was a big supporter of her children and grandchildren in their sports and did not like to miss a game. Precious memories of Ilona live on with her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Edward R. Rupnik, whom she married February 1, 1969; her daughter, Kimberly Blasco (Jerry) of Boardman; her son, Brent Rupnik (Ruth) of Vero Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Connor and Sarah Blasco; and her sister, Vonda Kerr of Jackson, Ohio. Preceding her in death are her parents and her sister, Ardyth Elwell. Services are 11:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday and 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. All who knew and loved Ilona are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
