James Carnes Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Edward Carnes on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 79. James was born on September 7, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Irving and Opal Carnes. James was a loving husband and father to his wife, Janet, and their sons, Scott and Bryan. He was a graduate of Jackson-Milton High School, where he enjoyed playing drums in the band. He also loved playing music with his friends in a band and dancing. James served in the United States Navy. James was a long time employee of the Don Booth Company followed by working for Weiland Estates and Things Remembered. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and joking around. James is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Scott (Tracy) and Bryan; and his grandchildren, Tommy and Caty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Opal; and his siblings, Irving (Pooch), Wilford, and Doris. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio. Inurnment will follow in North Jackson Cemetery with full military honors. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of James E. Carnes, please visit our floral store.
