James Edelston Obituary

HUBBARD James C. "Skip" Edelston Sr., 82, died Monday evening September 15, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born August 5, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of Anthony M. and Mary A. Williams Edelston and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Edelston, a 1961 graduate of Ursuline High School was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He served with the United States Army, and was a journeyman tool and die maker at Delphi Packard Electric for 33 years, before retiring in 2001. Skip was a member of The Van Dyke's, the Knights of Columbus Hubbard Council 2072, and the Hello Brother Club. He enjoyed golfing and golfed in the Packard Electric Golf League. Skip loved cars, models, listening to the Oldies, playing the guitar and trips to the casino. He leaves his wife, the former Carmela A. Mariano, whom he married March 13, 1970; a son, Jim (Cathy Bislich) Edelston of Boardman; a daughter, Tracie (Dan) Edelston-Apanasewicz of Dayton, OH; a brother, Michael Edelston of Hubbard; three sisters, Sandy (Lohman) Squibbs of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Nancy (Bob) Stoia of Meredith, NH and Toni (John) Stefan of Negley, OH and 3 grandchildren, Vica (Shane), Victoria (Jake) and Tatyana (Jonah). Skip was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Arnaut and a brother-in-law, Vito Mariano. Per Skip's wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services.
