James Johnson Obituary
James E. Johnson (JJ, Papa J, Jimmy), age 76 of Hubbard passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Tuesday March 12, 2024.
James was born January 19, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of the late Woods & Catherine Rosenberg Johnson.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hubbard High School where he played football and made All Steel Valley.
James worked at Sherwin Williams (US Can) then later called Ball Corporation where he retired after 38 years. He was a member of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Throughout his life he was a part of many local organizations in the Hubbard Community.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Hubbard VFW Post 3767. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had a passion for cooking and everyone loved his wild game dinners.
James loved the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians and never missed those games. He loved life, and loved helping others, if you were ever In need he would give you the shirt off his back. However you knew him as JJ, Papa J, or James, he left you with a great story to tell and he also left a huge mark in the town he called home, Hubbard, Ohio.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, the former Linda R. Caroselli whom he married February 16, 1994; his three daughters Krista (Chad) Cutter of Edinburg, PA, Tina (Bill Jr.) Orr of Hubbard, Hope Johnson of Hubbard, three sons Joe (Michelle) Anzivino of Wakashah, Wisconsin, Ralph (Monica) Anzivino of Wilwaukee, Wisconsin, and James (Jody) Johnson of Jamestown, PA., and twelve grandchildren Craig Urbach, Chadd (Kyle) Orr, Larissa (Jesse) Vestal, Cara Anzivino, Vincent Anzivino, Bella Anzivino, Gus Anzivino, Ava Anzivino, Madison Johnson, Jocelyn Johnson, Anna Johnson, and Jessica Beyer, and three great-grandchildren, Knox Orr, Koal Orr, and Nora Vestal.
He also leaves his sisters, Kathleen (Ken) Bidelman of Nokomis, Florida, and Janyce A. Koch of Hubbard.
James was welcomed home by his parents, and in-laws Joe "jumpy" & Joyce (Penel) Caroselli, sister Marilyn Sykes, and brother-in-law James C. Koch.
Per his wishes there are no calling hours, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later day, which were his wishes on how he wanted to be remembered.
