James Jornigan Obituary

James Herbert Jornigan James Herbert Jornigan, 75, of Girard, Ohio, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2025, at the Hospice House, surrounded by his family. Born on August 2, 1950, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Jim lived a life marked by love, dedication, and unwavering loyalty to his family and country. A proud Vietnam veteran, Jim honorably served in the United States Army. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, working hard to provide for his family, protecting them, and ensuring they never went without. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." - Psalm 116:15. Jim loved his wife, Sealenia, with all his heart and was deeply devoted to her throughout their life together. He taught his son, Adam, to be a man and was his daughters' greatest supporter. He cherished his grandchildren, doting on each one and celebrating every moment spent with them. Jim retired after more than 30 years working in the steel mill as a heavy equipment mechanic at Tube City, where he built lasting friendships with his colleagues who will deeply miss him. He also enjoyed fishing, cutting grass, tinkering in the garage and trains. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of country, love of family, and steadfast devotion to his wife. He is survived by his daughter, Robin (Buddy) Estes, and his son, Adam (Tabitha) Jornigan; six cherished grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kathy Drovidelic, Hazel (Victor) Bowling, Cheryl (Jose) Benavedis, and Robert Jornigan; as well as many nieces and nephews. "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope." - 1 Thessalonians 4:13. Jim now reunites in peace with his beloved wife, Sealenia Jornigan; his parents, Clara and Robert Jornigan; his brother, Wayne Jornigan; and his sister, Diane Ross. "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." - John 11:25-26. In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held. Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is honored to assist with these arrangements.
