James Marasco Obituary

James F. Marasco, 61, of Farrell, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. James was born on January 3, 1964, in Farrell, a son of the late Francis and Rosalie (Crivello) Marasco. As a lifelong area resident, Jim graduated, with honors, in 1982 from Farrell Area High School. He attended Edinboro University and earned his bachelor's degree in English from Penn State University. He spent his career working as a freelance writer. James was of the Catholic faith. An avid reader, and writer, he also enjoyed music, especially Bruce Springsteen and Daniel O'Donnell. He attended several of their concerts. Above all, family was always most important to James. In recent years, he found great joy in researching family genealogy. He is survived by a brother, Michael Marasco and his wife Susan, of Fredonia; two nephews, Patrick and Jacob Hart; and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caretakers. The family would like to thank the staff of both CRI and Priority Care Unlimited for the unconditional love and support that has been given over the last 18 years. We thank the workers who became Jim's extended family and friends. We are grateful. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, at www.yourcpf.org Calling hours will be 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday (02/23/2025) in J.
