Robert " Bobby" Johnson
September 12, 2022
I´m terribly sorry to learn of your passing, Coach. It saddens me to know I will never again hear those words from you after a ball was hit to me at 3rd, "Bobby, step and throw! Believe me when I say, Coach, hearing you holler those words helped remind me of the fundamentals and helped keep me focused on the task of throwing the runner out at 1st. But beyond that, Coach, I have always enjoyed playing with or against you. Regardless of which bench you were sitting on, I always knew you cared about me as a ball player and a man. You are truly one of a kind, a true gentleman, mentor and friend. I hope you rest in sweet, sweet peace, Sir. May God place you on His closest ball field as you wait for the rest of us to join you for a game once again.
With all my love, admiration and respect to you and your family and friends,
Bobby: Springfield Old-Timers
