Janet Robarge Obituary

Janet Robarge July 4, 1928 - March 20, 2024 James Robarge April 15, 1928-January 25, 2021 Our Mom, Janet S. Robarge has died at 95 years young. She was in her home, surrounded by her children Joan (George) McRoberts, Jill (Tim) Connell, and Jim (Annie) Robarge. Mom was preceded in death by our Dad, her husband of 65 years, James E Robarge. Family was everything to Mom and Dad. Together they raised their three children and then continued to build a legacy for their 15 grandchildren; Georgia (John) Johnson, Joshua (Chelsey) McRoberts, Elizabeth (Aaron) Taylor, Eric (Michelle) Connell, Ben Connell, Carolyn (Ben) Hammel, Jeffrey (Jordan) Connell, Timothy Connell, Hannah Connell, Priscilla Connell, Mary Connell, Gloria Connell, Jimmy (Cori) Robarge III, Adam (Jake) Robarge, Kieran Robarge and 18 great grandchildren, Cale & Jase Johnson, Jaylynn, Kylie, Kurtis, & Wilbur McRoberts, Sophia & Colbie Taylor, Ben & Luke Connell, Leighton, Rylen, & Palmer Connell, Elias & Marlow, (and 1 on the way!) Hammel, Arabella & Emerson Robarge. Mom and Dad met in kindergarten in Greenfield, MA. Their lives often took them in different directions, as Mom graduated from Vassar College, and Dad served in the Air Force and earned a MBA degree from Syracuse University. Despite their different paths, on December 15, 1956 they were married! As they were raising their family they lived in Fresh Meadows, NY; Ridgewood, New Jersey; and Sylvania, Ohio. They retired in Carolina Lakes, N.C., and later moved to Copeland Oaks Retirement Village in Sebring, OH. Their senior years were very active as they enjoyed family, traveling, and many outdoor adventures including hosting kids, grandkids and great grandkids on the lake, several African safari's (as well as many other travels), and kayaking well into their eighties. They both often said, "We have very blessed lives." And we kids say, "We were blessed with wonderful parents." Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lois Swain and her sister Fran (Whit) Moretti. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Robarge and his sister Betsy (Collis) Adams. A memorial will be held at a future date in Logan, Ohio. Friends and family may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio (330) 938-2526.
