Jay Magee Obituary

Jay Victor Magee, lovingly known to family and friends as "JV" of "Journey J," passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 13, 1960, in Teaneck, NJ, Jay lived a life full of creativity, kindness, and unconditional love. Jay was a gifted author and magician, delighting others with his words and wonder. A lifelong fan of Marvel superheroes, he had a wealth of knowledge on comic books and was a seasoned collector of both comics and toys. His passion for stories, imagination, and artistry touched everyone who knew him. Those who spent time with Jay will remember his generous spirit. Even while enduring his own struggles with illness, he never failed to ask, "How are you?" and to send love to his family. He lived with a compassionate heart and never missed a chance to say "I love you." He is survived by his closest kin, Elizabeth (Spiers) Ramirez, Joey Robert Ramirez, Joseph Anthony Ramirez, Helen Elizabeth (Pineiro) Spiers, Aaron Lee Corby, James Buzowski and family; and his devoted caretaker and longtime best friend, Kristy Lynn Bathory, who was like a sister to him. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ramona (Romanella) Magee. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness. His memory will live on in our hearts . A private memorial service will be held.
