John Caudill Obituary
Struthers – John David Caudill, 79, of Struthers, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 25, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
John was born on January 31, 1946, in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of Dewey and Ada (Young) Caudill. He moved to the Youngstown area in 1965, where he would build a life rooted in love, hard work, and family.
A proud and dedicated over-the-road truck driver, John spent much of his career traveling across the United States. For the last 25 years before his retirement in 2020, he was an owner-operator of his own truck-an accomplishment he was deeply proud of. He hauled every kind of load imaginable, and his work ethic and dedication were unmatched.
John will be lovingly remembered for his easy-going personality, tireless work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family. He adored his wife, Mary Louise, with all his heart, and always placed his loved ones above all else.
In his free time, John enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, and attending sprint car races with friends. His talents, humor, and steady presence enriched the lives of everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of over 60 years, Mary Louise (Patrick) Caudill; four children, Gilbert (Tammy) DeMello, Christina Louise (Corey) Barkley, Henrietta Ada Curtis, and John Caudill Jr.; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his brother, Henry (Pam) Caudill; two sisters, Sue Chandler and Verma Williams; and his faithful companion, his beloved dog, Lucy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield Niles Road, Canfield.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.
John's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Hospice House for the compassionate care and kindness shown to him during this difficult time.
