Joseph Kellar Obituary

Joseph John Kellar, 81, of Warren, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at his home. He was born May 14, 1943, in Warren, OH, the son of the late Robert Kellar and the late Dorothy Younger Kellar. Joseph was a 1962 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, serving during the Cuban Missile crisis aboard the USS Wahkiakum County stationed in Little Creek Amphibious Base. He was employed at Copperweld Steel for 37 years as an iron worker and held many union jobs. On December 14, 1963, he married Katherine Kozicki Kellar. Together they shared 55 years of marriage upon her passing on February 14, 2018. He is survived by his son, Theodore Kellar of Warren, OH; brothers, Richard, Larry, Mike, and Jeff; sisters, Carolyn and Janice. Besides his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kellar; and sons, Joseph J. Kellar, Jr., Jarrett J. Kellar, and Douglas W. Kellar. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his neighbors Mark and Sherry Cykon, Wanda Drotleff, and Kevin and Chulai Trumbull for taking care of and looking out for him and a very special thank you to God's gift to him Laina Sunshine Kellar, who stood by him his entire life. No services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
