Joseph Simonetti Obituary
Joseph G. Simonetti Jr. age 84 of Lordstown passed away peacefully, Monday Sept 22, 2025 at his residence and went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on Oct. 24, 1940 in Cleveland, OH the son of the late Joseph George Simonetti Sr. and Sophie Mary (Lapinskas) Simonetti. Joseph had lived in Lordstown for over 30 years formerly of Cleveland, OH where he graduated from Collinwood High School in the Class of 1958. He worked as a Pipefitter at General Motors in Euclid & Lordstown retiring in 2019 after 41 years of service. Joseph married the love of his life, Carol Ann Ormston on May 18, 1984 and they enjoyed the past 41 years of marriage together. He was a long-time attendee of the Warren First Assembly of God, and a member of the UAW Lordstown Local #1714. Joseph loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, word searches, building things with his own hands, and mowing his grass. He and his wife Carol started a private cat rescue group named SCAAT (Saving Cats Abandoned, Abused, and Traumatized) Together they managed SCAAT for over 20 years, finding homes for countless kitties. The mission was to rescue cats, have them spay & neutered and find them homes to be adopted into. Joe will be forever missed by all those he loved and those who loved him.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son: Joseph G. Simonetti Ill, 1 sister: Josephine Simonetti, and 2 brothers: Paul & Jim Simonetti.
He is survived by: his wife: Carol A. Simonetti of Lordstown, 2 daughters: Marie Hawkins of Anna, TX, Angela Simonetti & Michael Dotson of Pelham, AL, 3 bonus sons: Stephen Behun of Rocky River, OH, Jody Behun of Youngstown, Jason & Jennifer Behun of Warren, 1 bonus daughter: Tara & Brian Koper of Lordstown, 1 sister: Constance Scott of Warren, 1 brother: Frank Simonetti of Las Vegas, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date and time. He will be laid to rest at Lordstown Cemetery. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the (Trap-Neuter-Release) TNR of Warren 2428 Elm Rd. NE Warren, OH 44483 in his memory.
