June Marie Romeo

Struthers - June Marie Romeo, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Mercy Health-St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 14, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, June was the daughter of the late Oscar R. and Vera (Pollcano) McAllister. A lifelong resident of Struthers, she was a former member of Struthers Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker who centered her life around her family. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She had a gift for making others feel at home, often through her home-cooked meals and baked goods, which were especially cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness extended beyond people-she had a gentle heart for animals as well. She is survived by her four children: Nick J. (Kathleen) Romeo of Poland, Diane L. (Harold) Hutzen of Poland, Patricia A. Romeo of Struthers, with whom she made her home, and Jacqueline Marie (Richard) Tinsley of Sunset Beach, NC. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Niki (Scott) Arkwright, Rebecca (Corey) Jones, Brian (Christina Chan) Hutzen, Kristin (Dale) Fisher, Kailyn Tinsley, and Dylan Tinsley; and two great-grandchildren: Andrew Arkwright and Nathan Arkwright. June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, John P. Romeo, whom she married on November 4, 1948, and who passed on April 22, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul McAllister and Jack McAllister. There will be no calling hours or services at this time.
