Kathryn Werner Obituary

Kathryn R. "Kay" Werner, 86, of Hermitage, passed away Monday evening, July 15, 2024, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle. Mrs. Werner was born on April 19, 1938, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Diurba) Roberts. She was a 1956 graduate of Hickory High School. Following graduation, she began working as a payroll clerk at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. Upon the plant's closure, Kay was employed as an administrative assistant for Primary Health Network. Kay served as the past treasurer of the P.E.O. International Sisterhood and was a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Easter Star. Additionally, she was a member of the neighborhood book club. She had an infectious laugh, was loved by all, and looked forward to catching up with friends over a glass of wine. Kay also had a passion for giving to others, making her shopping trips even more enjoyable. Above all, she truly loved life and cared deeply for her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard L. Werner, whom she married on October 6, 1978; a sister, Ellen Lilly and her husband Bud; five nieces and nephews, Todd Lilly (Danielle), Chad Lilly (Becky Jo), Jeff Werner (Amy), Brian Werner (Tina) and Christine Sheets (Garyn); and eight great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ronald Werner and his wife Juanita.
