Lillian DeSalvo Obituary

Poland-Lillian Corrine DeSalvo, 89, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Born Nov. 2, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Armando "Sparkie" and Viola Magalotti Mastropietro. A proud graduate of East High School, Lillian began her career as a preschool teacher, nurturing young minds with patience and care. She later became a respected counter manager for Estee Lauder at Macy's where her warmth and grace left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. A devoted member of Holy Family Church and an enthusiastic participant in the Red Hat Society, Lillian found joy in playing bridge, reading, and spending treasured time with family and friends. Lillian lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and community. Lillian will be missed by her three children, Carla DeSalvo Owens, Mark DeSalvo, and Corrine DeSalvo Martin; six cherished grandchildren, Mark (Jillian) DeSalvo II, Stephanie (Jayare) Cichanski, Nicole (J.C.) Kojancic, Matthew (Jaclyn) Owens, Zachary Martin, and Zoe Martin; eight precious great-grandchildren, Hadlee, Phebee, and Mark DeSalvo, Olivia, Greyson, and Scarlett Cichanski, and Fiona and Foster Kocjancic; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Joseph DeSalvo, whom she lost in 1978 and never stopped loving; a brother, Joseph Mastropietro; and a sister, Bernadine Mastropietro Walsh. Lillian was deeply loved and will be missed forever by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Private services were held in her honor. In remembrance of Lillian's life, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Youngstown, Ohio 44514. I´ve known Little since I was a little girl she went to school with my aunt Anna Marie Dando Cercone, who just recently passed away also at 89 they all belong to a club that they had started when they were in high school and that club remained faithful and true through the years. I have so many memories of us a little girl wanted to follow them and they would tell me to go home and as I got older and became an adult, they all say hey have cheryl over for a laugh when they were playing cards and I would use them and say sure now you want the company (No was funny. She was intelligent and someone that was so interesting to just talk to. She was kind she carried a lot of wisdom she was quickwitted and I so enjoyed her company whenever I had the opportunity. I know they´re all together now reunited playing cards and enjoying each other`s company. Rest in peace Little and God bless you. It was truly a pleasure, knowing you. You will always remain in memories. Blessings to your family and prayers.
