Lois Long Obituary

Lois J. Long, 83, of Cortland, OH went to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge. She was born February 18, 1942 in Warren, OH, a daughter of the late William A. Yocum and the late Anna Catherine Helms. She married Robert H. Long on June 27, 1964. Lois graduated from Champion High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Nyack College. She worked as a missionary and teacher, and also part of an after school Japanese language program. Lois was a member of North Mar Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and she enjoyed baby sitting, cooking, and flower arranging. Surviving are her husband Rev. Robert H. Long of Warren, OH, a daughter, Lisa (Rob) Lewis of Mineral Ridge, OH, a son, Nathan Long of Fowler, OH and two grandchildren; Emili (Kohei) Mizuno and Emma Long, both of Tokyo, Japan. Also surviving is a sister, Evelyn J. Fittro of NH. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James E. and Ray H. Yocum and a sister, Barbara A. Bonser. Funeral services will be held at North Mar Christian & Missionary Alliance Church on Wednesday, September 24th at 11:00 AM, where Pastor Myron Daum will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 23rd from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In addition to one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in New Castle, PA. The family requests that material contributions be made to Japan's ministry through NorthMar Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Long sensei,
I am very sorry to hear Lois sensei´s loss. I will never forget her bright voice that cheered me up. I will really miss her.
