"This Too Shall Pass" Corinthians 4:17 "For our light affliction, which is only for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory"
Margie Ree Roller transitioned from her earthly life on September 26, 2025 at Mercy Health Hospice House with her son Jason by her side singing "God Is" to her which, she sang as a duet with her husband Richard. Her legacy will be cherished and may her memory be a Blessing to those who loved her.
Margie Ree was the eldest daughter born to parents Jessie Lampley Sr. and Eula Mae White-Lampley on August 24,1944 in Union Springs, Alabama. The family moved to Youngstown,Ohio in 1955 when Jessie Sr. secured a job. She was an avid and ambitious learner and graduated from The Rayen School in1962 and continued her education at St. Elizabeth's School of Respiratory Technology where she graduated in 1974. She would go on to work 25 years at Cafaro Hospital. Margie decided to expand her education even further at Trumbull Business College where she received an Associate of Applied Business in Business Computer Applications in 1997. This new venture led her to work for Youngstown State University as a Financial Aid Advisor where she retired from in 2012. After retiring she decided to build an addition onto her home to be able to take care of her mother Eula and her Aunt Rose until their transition.
Margie was united in marriage to Richard Allen Roller on January 25,1964 and together they started a family of 3 children, Richard Allen II, Jason Jerome, and Melanie Michelle (Missy) Roller. Margie also nurtured and cared for her nieces, April and Briana as her own.
Margie was a devoted and trusted longtime member of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served as the Pastor's Stewart, Trustee and Usher Board, Sunday School class leader, Women's Day Committee, the Deaconess Board, and a cherished, prominent singer of the church choir. If you had the ear for it, you could easily hear her deep vibrato resonating through the sanctuary of the church. She also attended Sunday School and Bible Study.
Margie will be remembered as a family woman, a nurturer, a wonderful cook, and a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, friend, and Woman of God. She lived true to her beliefs and gave the most sound advice. She was a creative soul who loved to read and sew and create delicious desserts. Her homemade ice cream was top tier and was always requested at events. In the early 70's she sold Christmas wreaths that were braided tubes of holiday fabric with poly filling. The 80's brought a line of internationally based dolls called Passport Pals with hand painted faces and authentic clothing and in the 90's, she was the food/menu inspiration for the restaurant Roller's Place. While her husband Richard had the food service management background and significant menu contributions, the core was influenced by a combination of Eula Mae and Margie Ree. Margie's legacy is one of love, acceptance, class, grace, beauty, and excellence that will be greatly missed by those who loved and cherished her.
She leaves to continue her legacy her children, Richard Roller II, Jason (Jennifer) Roller and Melanie Roller all of Youngstown, as well as April (Bryan) Stevens of Denver, Colorado and Briana Lampley of Youngstown, 10 grandchildren, Jermaine Roller, Reanna Roller, and Sydney (Charles) Colvin, Trey Roller, Arielle Fitzgerald, Lauryn Marshall, Aleaha Lampley, Christopher, Caleb, and Caiyah Stevens, as well as 8 great-grandchildren; Kaiden and Aaron Roller, Harrison, Charlie, and Emory Colvin, Nova and Kal'el Smith, & Na'Ziere Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews, & other family members who will keep her in loving memory.
