Marie Laurie Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Marie Laurie, 60, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, May 10, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Marie was born November 22, 1964, in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert and Nicolini Cutrone Shanovich. She was raised in Campbell and moved to Austintown in 1984 after her marriage. Marie was a 1983 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and worked as a general manager for McDonald's at various locations for 25 years while raising and caring for her family. Being a wife, mother and grandmother was Marie's favorite job. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Youngstown and truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marie is survived by her husband of 40 years, David A. Laurie, whom she married October 9, 1984; her daughter, Amanda (Sean) Packo of Canfield; her grandsons, Asher and Cooper Packo; her father, Robert Shanovich of Girard; brother-in-law, Mark (Christie) Laurie; a nephew, David Joseph Laurie and several extended family members. Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Nicolini Shanovich and two sisters, Darlene Sinkovich and Roberta Stahara. Private family services will be held at a later date.
