Ommie Clinkscale Obituary

Ommie Lee Clinkscale, of Campbell, Ohio was 92 when she transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Ommie Lee was born May 27, 1933 in Gosport, Alabama and was the daughter of Carrie Lee and Dora Lambert Burroughs. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, retiring as a nurse's assistant from Park Vista Nursing Home. A devoted member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. Ommie had a true gift for cooking and found great joy in feeding everyone who came through her door-no one ever left her home hungry. Her food was not only delicious, it was made with love and brought comfort to everyone. She also enjoyed thrifting, singing, and being around her family. It was a well-known fact that Ommie had endless generosity and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in her community. She read the Word of God daily and professed Psalm 91 to everyone she met and loved until her very last breath. The condition of her Bible said it all and was a reflection of her daily walk with God. She was a praying mother, grandmother, and friend whose spiritual strength left a lasting impact on many. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy three daughters, Regina Steele (Mohammad), of San Jose, CA, Lorene Conley (Thomas) of Youngstown, and Serena Steele of Cleveland; three sisters, Bessie Lee Sims of Mobile, Alabama, Ada Dell Williams of Newark, NJ and Corine Wiggins of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Candice Conley, Star Steele, Natasha Conley, and Taylor (Shawn) Frost; a great granddaughter, Ahmina; daughter-in-law, Faitha Steele; and a host of family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Steele and her second husband, Roscoe Clinkscale along with two sons, John E. Steele and Chad Clinkscale; and her 10 siblings. Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow immediately at 10:00 a.m. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Ommie Lee Clinkscale, please visit our floral store.

As the daughter of Edward Clinkscale (deceased), who was brother to Roscoe Clinkscale (deceased), I send my sincerest prayers and condolences to Aunt Ommie´s family & friends. I didn´t get to know her much because I moved away but what a great long life she lived in service to others. May she rest in beautiful peace.
