Patrick Kent Obituary

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Patrick Anthony Kent, age 43, of Austintown OH, passed away at Mercy Health-Boardman. He was born May 12, 1982, in Youngstown, OH to Evan Evans and Carol (Redmond) Baumgardner. Patrick graduated from Chaney High School in 2001. He went on to pursue training as an automotive diesel mechanic at a trade school in Nashville, TN. He w as a Correctional Officer at Trumbull Correctional Institute for the past five and a half years. Patrick found joy in the outdoors and had a passion for fishing, seasonal camping, and motorcycles-interests that brought him peace and fulfillment throughout his life. He is survived by his wife Karen (Horvath) Piper; parents, Evan Evans and Carol (Redmond) Baumgardner; his daughter, Peyton Kent; his stepson, Andrew Piper; brother, Donald Kent; sisters Alisha Fisher and Erica Kent, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two brothers. A Celebration of Life will take place at Highway Tabernacle Church, 3000 S Raccoon Rd, Youngstown, OH 44515. The date and time will be announced at a later date. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
