Phyllia Witherow Obituary

North Lima - Phyllis Theresa Witherow, 86, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Adventura at Assumption Village Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 7, 1937, in Youngstown, Ohio, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of Michael and Theresa (Navy) Esposito. Phyllis graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1955. It was during her time there that she met her loving husband, Paul Witherow, whom she later married in 1958. Throughout her career, she enjoyed working at various companies including McKelvey's, Household Finance, and J. Brokerage. However, her true passion in life was loving and raising her three children; as well as watching them grow up and start families of their own. As a grandmother, she loved attending sporting events, making breakfast after sleepovers, and teaching her grandchildren how to bake. During her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed visiting, smiling, and dancing with her great-grandchildren. Besides being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, she lived a full and rich life characterized by her kindness and contributions to her community. Phyllis was an active member of various organizations such as the Boardman Lionettes, Boardman School's Parent Teacher Association, and Charley's Angels of St. Charles Church, while also serving as Class Reunion President for graduating high school class. In addition, she had an incredible ability to spread love and happiness throughout her community with her baking skills. To many residents throughout the area, she was known as the "pumpkin roll lady" who loved producing delicious treats for individuals and their families during the holidays, times of celebration, or in times of need. Phyllis will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her infectious laughter, and her boundless love for family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Anthony Witherow, whom she was joyfully married to for 61 years. She leaves behind her siblings Anthony (Debbie) Esposito and Michael Esposito; three children, Thomas Witherow of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Witherow of Columbiana, and Lori (Ralph) Lowery of Boardman; former daughters-in-law, Dawn Witherow and Teresa Betts; ten grandchildren Bridget (Curtis) Cates, Brenton (Sehee) Witherow, Brandon (Victoria) Witherow, Conner (Sydney) Witherow, Zachary and Madeline Witherow, Ralph (Taylor Lisk) Lowery VIII, Christian (Adel) Lowery, Jordan and Lauren Lowery; and seven great-grandchildren, Logan Cates, Tony and Andrew Witherow, Isabella and Addison Witherow, Ralph Lowery IX, and Elora Lowery. Family and friends may call 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, New Springfield, Ohio 44443, where a celebration of life will be held directly afterward to commemorate her life.
