Raymond Nero Obituary

Lowellville – Raymond James Nero, 87, of Lowellville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at Briarfield Place in Boardman. Born October 19, 1937, in Lowellville, Ohio, Raymond was the beloved son of Michael and Jessie (Chutz) Nero. A proud graduate of Lowellville High School, Class of 1955, Raymond spent his career serving his community as the Superintendent and Wastewater Plant Operator for the Village of Lowellville. He held a Class III Operator License and was a dedicated member of the Local and State Ohio Public Employees Systems (OPES and OPERS), retiring with the Ohio Public Retirement System. Raymond was a devoted son who cared lovingly for his parents until their passing. Known for his contagious smile and warm spirit, he was a gentle soul who lit up every room he entered. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, especially loyal to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed watching football at all levels and attended countless high school and college games over the years. He is survived by his loving sister, Irene (Joseph) Santon of Youngstown; many dear cousins; and several cherished friends who will miss his kindness and laughter.
