Canfield - Richard A. Calvin, 78, died December 24, 2024, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Richard, affectionately known as "Rick," was born December 15, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, the second son of Richard and Rosena (Haus) Calvin.
A lifelong resident of Canfield, Rick was a graduate of Canfield High School, Class of 1966. Rick furthered his education at Youngstown State University and received his bachelor's degree in business administration. For the majority of his career, Rick owned and operated Paradise Fish Farm, raising mostly perch and large-mouth bass. Since 1982, Rick was a dedicated caregiver and aide to his brother Tim, after he was injured in a military service accident.
Rick loved nature, being outdoors, and enjoyed the companionship of his faithful dogs, Jack and Jill.
Rick is survived by his brother, Timothy Calvin, of Canfield; sister-in-law, Vicki Calvin of North Lima; three nephews, Rodney (Tabbetha ) Calvin, Wayne Calvin, and Sebastian Calvin; and great-nephew, William Calvin.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his oldest brother, William Calvin; and his dog, Jack.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Brian Regal officiating.
