Robert Maruschak Obituary
Poland - Dr. Robert Michael Maruschak, passed away on April 25, 2025, with his daughter, Lisa, by his side, after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 90.
Born on March 8, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Mary (Postich) Maruschak and Michael Maruschak. Robert was a proud graduate of Struthers High School, class of 1952 and of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, class of 1960.
Robert practiced dentistry in Poland, Ohio for 28 years, before moving to Hilton Head, South Carolina where he owned Prudential, the largest real estate agency on the island at the time. Robert returned to the area in 1997 where he built homes in the Poland area before returning to dentistry. He officially retired in 2007.
Robert was the ultimate sportsman; he loved all sports, at all levels. In 1967, he spoke to Coach Woody Hayes about becoming a Committeeman to recruit out of Northeast Ohio for The Ohio State University football program. He had many notable recruits spanning over two decades. Additionally, he was the kicking coach for multiple area high school football teams. Robert had a love for fishing that began in his childhood while fishing in Canada with his parents and brothers. Robert especially loved golfing. He was a member of New Castle Country Club. He wanted it noted that he had 3 hole-in-ones over his lifetime! Robert was an active member of St. James' Episcopal Church, serving as president of the Vestry.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Mark) Maruschak and her children Dr. Margo Milliron and Eric Milliron of Boardman, Ohio, his son Brian Maruschak of Orlando, Florida, his daughter Julia Rondina and her daughter Olivia of Fort Myers, Florida, and step-son Jeff Reynallt of South Carolina. He leaves behind two younger brothers Dr. James Maruschak and Dr. Richard Maruschak. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to Robert on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11:00 am until 11:50 am St. James' Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave, Boardman, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
