Robert W. Parillo

GIRARD - With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Robert "Bob" William Parillo, 72, who passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born April 28, 1952, in Girard, the cherished son of the late Victor and Donna Smith Parillo. A lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Girard High School in 1970 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. Following his military service, Bob dedicated 30 years to Youngstown Steel Door before retiring in 2016. Bob's zest for life was evident in his many passions. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, golfer, and dart player. His love for sports extended to coaching the Girard High School Girls Varsity Bowling team for many years. Bob's enthusiasm for college football and the Ohio State Buckeyes was unmatched, and he was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. His weekends were often spent enjoying car shows, races, and local festivals with his beloved wife, Sandy. Their Friday night dates at Quaker Steak and Lube were a highlight, where they built lasting friendships and shared many joyful moments. Above all, Bob's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends and he will always be remembered as the life of every party. Bob leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Sandy Toth Parillo, whom he married July 5, 1984; his four children, Jason (Lauren), Chris, Robyn (Drake), and Brandy; his four grandchildren, Greyson, Samantha, Nicholas, and Patrick; two great-grandchildren, Jovanni and Christopher; two sisters, Cheryl Finta and Kathy Parillo Moy, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 222 S. State St. Girard, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Bob's family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff of 7NW and the radiation department at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, and the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Valley for their kindness shown and compassionate care given to Bob.
