Rodney A. Wylam

Hubbard - Rodney A. Wylam, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Countryside at the Elmwood Assisted Living in Hubbard, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 15, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, Rodney was the son of the late Earl and Valeria (Norse) Wylam. A proud lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, he graduated from Boardman High School in 1956. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Rodney dedicated his career to the electrical trade as a proud member of IBEW Local 64 of Northeast Ohio, where he was honored with a 75-year service pin-an exceptional achievement that spoke to his hard work and commitment. A true car enthusiast, Rodney found joy in restoring and working on classic cars. He especially loved his 1957 Corvette, which he frequently drove to local car shows. NASCAR races, car shows, and time spent under the hood were some of his favorite pastimes. Rodney is survived by his three children, Jody (Gene) Riddle of Oriental, NC; Tracey A. (Lee) Duttry of Lowellville, OH; and Troy A. (Michelle) Wylam of Hot Springs, AR; two step-sons, Paul (Danette) Eliseo of Florida and Mark Eliseo of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirle M. Wylam, who passed away on October 1, 2021; his brother, Raymond Wylam; and his infant sister, Carole Wylam. Per Rodney's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Rodney's memory to the Animal Charity Humane Society, 8469 Southern Boulevard, Building 3, Youngstown, OH 44514. The Wylam family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Countryside at Elmwood and Akesco Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Rodney's final days.
