Ryan Galati Obituary

CANFIELD - Ryan J. Galati, 38, while on a path to sobriety, passed away Thursday morning, June 6, 2024, succumbing to complications stemming from a long battle with alcohol addiction. Ryan was born January 3, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Cleveland and Youngstown. He graduated from Canfield High School in 2004 before pursuing and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality at Youngstown State University. Ryan distinguished himself early on as an ambassador of helping and providing for others. His passion extended into his illustrious career as a powerhouse in the hospitality industry. Living and working in places like St. Thomas USVI, New Orleans, and more, Ryan's expertise in providing exemplary service at luxury hotels, renowned restaurants, and catering groups extended far and wide. While passionate about hospitality, his most meaningful work was spent working as a home health aide, assisting those with disabilities, and counseling kids and teens with behavioral challenges. With a vibrant dedication to living life to the fullest while caring for those he loved most, Ryan navigated life with determination, talent, and a relentless pursuit of joy. His favorite place to be was anywhere he could have his toes in the sand and the sun on his face, especially Naples, Florida with his parents. He loved being cozy on the couch, watching TV and movies, days spent with his husband (most importantly Sunday,) his family (especially his Mom,) entertaining his friends, delicious meals and trying new foods, his dogs Valentina and Vinny, a flare for designer goods, and traveling. With heaviest hearts but fondest memories and love, Ryan will be remembered for his unwavering tenacity, zest for life, and loving heart. Ryan leaves behind his husband, "Russ" James Russell Preston-Galati, mother, Susan Schiraldi; his fathers Richard J. Schiraldi and Dean (Michele) Galati; step-mother Carla Thomas, mother-in-law Lori Preston; four sisters, Teal (Brian) Palmer and their children, Tanya (Adam) Rising and their children with one on the way, Gabby (Michael) Recchia and their daughter, and Christine; two brothers, Rusty (Lynsey) Galati, and Jori (Liz) Schiraldi and their son on the way, sister-in-law Megan (Mike) Amato and their daughter, brother-in-law Ryan (Gigi Angelilli) Preston; six nieces, two nephews, with a nephew and niece/nephew on the way.
